
Elana Gleason (Aline) - Elana is delighted to be making her debut as Aline in The Sorcerer with the Gilbert and Sullivan Light Opera Company of Long Island. Most recently she has appeared as a soloist in “We Remember Them” with the prestigious Collegiate Chorale, whose common venues include Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Symphony Space. In February, she was seen in the role of Mercedes in Carmen with the Allentown Symphony in Pennsylvania. In May she will perform the role of Berta in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. Previous opera and musical theatre credits include Maia in the world premiere of When We Dead Awaken by Jesse A. Brown, Johanna in Sweeney Todd, Luisa in The Fantasticks, Second Woman in Dido and Aeneas, St. Genevieve in Four Saints in Three Acts, and Un Ingrate in Ballo Delle Ingrate. Partial roles include The Queen of the Night from Die Zauberflote, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Frasquita in Carmen, the title role in Lakme and Cunegonde in Candide. Concert soloist credits include Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols, Handel’s Dixit Dominus, Vivaldi’s Gloria in D Major, James Fitzwilliam’s Spirits of the Dead, and Wagner’s Kinderkatechismus at the Bard Music Festival. Elana is a graduate of Bard College with a BA in Music, concentrating in vocal performance and musicology.
